08 APRIL 1945
CALLSIGN: "Playmate 36", USAAF SERNO: OA-10A* 44-33878, (CV-328)** CREW: Pilot Lt. James F. Scott, Co-Pilot: Major Benjamin B. Mathis, Navigator: Captain Childs, Engineer: T/Sgt Charles Bledsoe, Radio: S/Sgt Coss, Radar: S/Sgt Coleman, Surgical Tech: Pfc Murphy

MISSION:
  Cover strikes on Indo China.

0630: Take-off Palawan.
1145: Arrived over orbit point, Cape Padaran.
1300: Contacted 2 P-38's over orbit point and were told of the Snafu-Alcatraz.
1301: Alcatraz #1 turned on emergency IFF and we tried to locate him on radar but due to his circling we were unable to. The crew told us where they were going to baile out so we proceeded to that point; 10 miles east of Cape Padaran.
1320: Eleven men bailed out but we did not see them.
1335: After a short search and with the help of the 2 P-38's we picked up the first man.
1345: Picked up 2 more men.
1400: While on our way to the 4th man a sub was sighted coming toward us, we took off in a hurry.
1410: Fighters had to leave us.
1420: Found the sub to be Streetcar #1. Saw him pick up 3 men and directed him to 3 more.
1440: He told us there was a Bogie in the area so we left without knowing if he had rescued the other 3 men.
2030: Landed Palawan.
