16 APRIL 1945
First Lieutenant Archie A.Yelvington, pilot of "Playmate Special", departed Zamboanga (Mindanao) at 0830, arriving at Sanga Sanga, Tawi Tawi at 1115. Unable to get his nose wheel down, he was obliged to land in the bay just off the town. After the transfer of eight wounded soldiers of the 41st Division from the beach in the Catalina, he departed arriving at Zamboanga at 1755. The wounded were transferred to the Station Hospital.

Take-off Zamboanga. Carried 2 passengers for Tawi Tawi.

1005:

Arrived at Sanga Sanga.

1015:

Landed in the bay.

1035:

Took off from bay to land on the strip. Could not get nose wheel down.

1115:

Landed in bay again.

1530:

Took off for Zamboanga with 8 wounded men and the 2 original passengers.

1715:

Landed in the bay Zamboanga. Rescued from 41st Div: Pvt Quattrock, T.E.; Pfc Stites, H.E.; Pfc Brady, R.E.; Pfc Warner, G.A.; Guerillas: Pvt Abanawas, Pvt Ladiabosol, M.; Pvt Malabong, M.; Pvt Durding, U.
