A hospital photo of (L to R) Lieutenant James A. Ballard, Lieutenant Ed
Bearman, Lieutenant Thomas P. Cockrell, Technical Sergeant Stephen J. Deak,
and Technical Sergeant Ed Matthews. Sergeant Deak was injured by anti
aircraft shrapnel on a low level strafing mission over Zamboanga. This crew,
along with 2 other B-25 crews from the 42nd Bomb Group ditched their bombers
and were rescued by Lieutenant Frank Rauschkolb and his crew on
04 March 1945.
