Staff Sergeant Charles Edward Frost was born on July
12, 1926 in Lake Creek, Oklahoma. He
graduated from Amarillo High School in 1944. He
served in the Army Air Force Enlisted Reserve Corps from July 5, 1944 to January 14, 1945
as part of the Boys of 17 Campaign. This was
a WWII campaign to enlist men who were not yet 18 and therefore could not regularly
enlist. He began his active duty on January 15, 1945.
He served with the 2nd Emergency Rescue Squadron on Luzon Island
in the Philippines as an Airplane Flight Chief and Top Turret Gunner. Upon his separation
on November 30, 1946 he returned to Amarillo, Texas to his wife, Dorothy, and in 1955
started his own heating and air conditioning company, Frost A/C & Heating, which is
still in operation.

has three daughters, five grandchildren one great-grandchild with another on the way.
Charles and his wife, Dorothy, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in
2004. |
