MISSION: Search for enemy rain the Halmahera's
0905: Take off Morotai. Tuned radio compass for 298ke. We flew south along the west coast of the Halmaheras until we reached Mikian Island. We were unable to pick up any bearings from a station in the Halmaheras. 
1225: Landed, Morotai.

1010: Saw two DD's on course of 220° in Morotai Straits put up 9 flak bursts at 3000 feet. B-25 was circling DD's.
1300: Searched coast of Halmaheras from 1°30'N, 128°'E to 0°12'N, 128°55'N

MISSION: Special search for P-61 down in Zamboanga Penninsula area. -
0740: Take-off Zamboanga. Searched East coast of Zamboanga Penninsula.
1040: Sighted FS boat at 07�42'N, 122�47'E, which signalled us to land.
1045: Landed on water and picked the following men off boat: 2nd Lt. James R. Hoak 0-931761 and 2nd Lt. John A. Mull 0-774271 of 421st Night Fighter Squadron and P-61 #5509. The P-61 crashed about 1530 14 July 1945 at old rubber plantation on Zamboanga Penninsula. FS boat was notified by personnel at rubber plantation and picked up men at 0800 15 July 1945. Men were treated for head injuries at site of crash.
1050: Took off for base.
1130: Landed, Zamboanga.

1130: Landed, Morotai

MISSION: Special Search for 2 missing P-47's -
0800: Take-off, Zamboanga. Searched inland along coast in area of 07°50'N, 123°03'E. Negative results.
1145: Landed Zamboanga. The two (2) missing P-47's are reported to have landed safely at Clark Field.


PLAYMATE 66 OA-10A* / 44-33941  (CV-452)** / PILOT: Lieutenant William J. LaBonte
MISSION: Cover strikes on Itu Aba Island -
0900: Take-off.
1200: Arrived Sand Cay Island, orbit point (10°25'N, 114°30'E).
1215: Was in visual contact with Mitchels. They did not bomb Itu Aba Island but a small island 20 miles north called Loaita ISland. Contact with Jukebox 66 and also Mitchels on VHF.
1255: All planes cleared target, took up course for Palawan.
1500: Landed, Palawan.


JUKEBOX 66 B-17H  / 44-83486 / PILOT: Lt. Rogers
MISSION: Cover strikes on Itu Aba Island -
0955: Take-off
1154: Arrived orbit point and commence square search, visibility was one mile and had to fly instruments part of time. (10°25'N, 114°30'E).
1224: Came out over Sidad Reef, circled reef for eleven minutes.
1235: Departed for base. We were orbiting ten miles east of Itu Aba Island, could see no other planes.
1415: Landed, Palawan.

MISSION: Special search for B-24, Snooper, missing since July 17 on strike to 00�40'S, 119°45'E, Donggala, Celebes and 00°45'S, 117°35'E, Cape Bajer, Borneo.
0545: Take off from Morotai.
1050: Arrived Donggala, Celebes.
1200: Arrived Cape Bajor, Borneo
1230: P-62 contacted "xxxxxx" by voice in regards to information on SNAFU B-24, no contact with bomber was reply.
1240: Departed base via Dengala, Celebes and Celebes coast line in search of SNAFU.
1415: Searching coastlines of along west coast of Celebes, north and south of Dengala.
1630: Begin search of 100 miles Celebes coastline eastward from Gorentalo Bay 00�30'N, 123�05'E.
1756: Sent 1730 position report and ETA to base.
1935: Landed Morotai.
