Squadron OA-10A Catalina 44-33876 on the first operational mission - 27 July 1944  [Mission Report] A B-24 crew had gone down in Geelvink Bay the day before.  The crew searched for seven hours before sighting a life raft. Her crew was: (Pilot) 1Lt. John S. Denison, (Co-Pilot) 1Lt. Eric A. Lakes, (Navigator) Lt. Peter Y. Naylor, (Engineer) T/Sgt John Y. Cunningham, (Radio) Cpl. Raymond B. Bean, (Radar) Sgt. George E. Bock, (Surgical Tech) Sgt. Franklin C. Besse. Photos were taken by her Squadron sister ship.
